Del Papa is caring: not only do they care about their employees, but they care about the community it serves. That’s why I wanted to come work here. In my previous job, I didn’t feel appreciated. I wanted to work at a company that valued my time on the job, and off. I had heard from friends who worked at Del Papa Distributing that I could find that here. So I applied and was hired on within a week! And I found what I was looking for. Here, I feel very appreciated for the job that I do, and I have a work life balance that allows me to spend more time at home with my family, which is important to me.
I started as a relief driver at Del Papa. Within a couple of months, I had my own route. I had been on a truck since I was 19 so when an opportunity came open for me to switch to the Sales department, I was pretty nervous. However, I knew I wanted to take advantage of the opportunities that a career change could provide, so I made the switch. It’s been amazing! I thought it would be more difficult than it has been, but I have great support in my team who make sure I am successful! Working here has helped me step outside of my comfort zone because I know I will be supported in whatever I do.
We are all one big family here! I love interacting with everyone who works here. This is a big professional company with amazing benefits, but at the end of the day, we are all friends. It’s the best of both worlds. Del Papa is also involved with so many charities and community efforts that it is touching to get to be a part of that.
I will be here as long as I can! It is nice to work for a place you know depends on you and the work you do. They have helped me get to where I want to be and I’m excited to keep growing with the company.
