Ohana Means Family
Ohana means family! Both Kona Big Wave and Del Papa Distributing have roots in Ohana. Founded by a father and son, Kona Brewing Co. reflects the beauty of their native Hawaii. Del Papa Distributing was founded by Omero Del Papa, an Italian immigrant whose good name and love of community allowed him to secure a strategic partnership with Anheuser-Busch, bringing iconic brands to the Gulf Coast of Texas. Which brings us to today, where we extend the opportunity to local consumers to choose Ohana this May-June as we support the spirit of Ohana that is reflected in the work of Galveston Bay Foundation.
Your Choices Make Change
In 1970, we united around the world’s first “Earth Day,” motivating consumers to make good choices for the sake of our planet. This year, consumers have the power to choose for the sake of the Galveston Bay! Since 1987, Galveston Bay Foundation has been working to ensure the future of Galveston Bay – healthy and vibrant, connected and protected by people, and adding to a sense of community.
Did you know some of your favorite restaurants partner with Galveston Bay Foundation in their Oyster Shell Recycling Program? Since 2011, the program has collected over 1,300 tons of shells from local restaurants to use in habitat restoration projects. Want to enhance your impact? When you dine out this May and June, order Kona Big Wave at one of these participating restaurants: BLVD. Seafood, Cajun Greek, Crazy Alan’s Swamp Shack (Kemah), Fish Tales, Fisherman’s Wharf, Gaido’s, Grand Galvez Bar & Grill, Kritikos Grill, Nick’s Kitchen & Beach Bar, Shuck’s Tavern & Oyster Bar, The Aquarium.
We are proud to offer #BeersForTheBay this summer!
