The latest from Budweiser’s Reserve Collection is here in the new Budweiser Discovery Reserve! An American red lager, this beer has been brewed to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Moon mission and the determination of the American spirit. The beer features a light, hoppy aroma with a toasted barley malt taste, a hint of toffee, and a sharp finish.
Discovery Reserve was inspired by an archival recipe from that time in history. The featured toasted Voyager barley malt, the lager’s red color, is reminiscent of the next frontier: Mars!
This is the 8th consecutive year Budweiser has partnered with Folds of Honor, an organization that provides educational and scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled servicemen. Like in year’s past, Budweiser will donate $1 for every case of Budweiser Discovery Reserve sold*. Last year, with the introduction of Freedom Reserve consumers got a behind the scenes glimpse as Veteran Budweiser brewers got to meet the individuals their beer helped serve. The special video feature allows consumers to see how the Budweiser Reserve Collection, with their help, is making a difference. Since 2011, Budweiser and its partners have donated close to $16 million toward these educational scholarships.
Everything about this beer has meaning, including the label design. The 11 stars signify the Apollo 11 mission. The alternating bottle caps are reminiscent of footsteps: like the ones Neil Armstrong left on the moon, and our future endeavor, Mars! The wings and stars present on the label give a nod to the original Budweiser can.
Discovery Reserve is the fourth beer in the Reserve Collection following Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager, a historic partnership with Jim Beam, Budweiser Freedom Reserve and Budweiser Repeal Reserve. Brewed to celebrate and remember significant moments in time, consumers are bought in to celebrating moments of history and those who made them happen. For now, we sip on Freedom Reserve and wait in anticipation to see what Anheuser-Busch will add to the collection next.
