Retail Service Rep

In my year and a half working at Del Papa Distributing, I have already been promoted! I started as a Merchandiser and was promoted to a Retail Service Rep. Now, I manage about 25 accounts. My job is all about relationships. Each day, I visit my accounts: I catch up with the owner and then complete their order. I make sure that our products are fresh and rotated and that our displays are in order. Then, I head out to check on the next account. It takes time, but once trust is built, our customers know we will do our job to take care of them. The most important thing we give to our clients is integrity.

One of the things I love about my job is that I get to work with and represent some of the best beer brands in the business. Before I try to create displays or bring in a new product to an account, I walk through the doors knowing that I have some of the best national and local brands behind me. I am very confident in the products we sell.

As an employee, I feel included in everything. The company communicates information, regardless of position, on all big picture goals. Because of this, I feel a greater drive to see the company succeed because I feel part of the team. They make you feel irreplaceable—they want you to stay and be a part of what is going on here.

I have experienced this first hand. One of my favorite memories of my time here is getting promoted. Even though I hadn’t worked with the company very long, I submitted my application for promotion with little expectation that I would get the job. I thought they probably wouldn’t pick the “new kid on the block.” However, it seemed that they recognized my work ethic and believed I was someone they could trust. I got the job. It was a really great feeling! A lot of times with a new job, one might be scared to ask questions. But here, everyone wants to see you succeed and is willing to help you! At Del Papa Distributing, I feel like I’m part of a family!
